TO FILE A PROOF OF CLAIM IN THE CHEMTURA CORP. BANKRUPTCY

Chemtura Corporation, a supplier of diacetyl, has filed for bankruptcy. October 30, 2009 is the last date that a person who has or believes he/she may have a claim against Chemtura may file a proof of claim.

Diacetyl has been used in butter flavors for microwave popcorn, in cake mixes, potato chips, candies and many other food products. Federal officials have found that diacetyl can cause the lung disease bronchiolitis obliterans syndrome, sometimes also called popcorn lung disease.

A Chemtura Corp. subsidiary, Chemtura Canada, manufactured the diacetyl which Chemtura Corp. sold. Its primary customers, Citrus & Allied Essences and Ungerer sold that diacetyl nationwide to numerous flavor manufacturers. Citrus & Allied Essences, which only sold Chemtura diacetyl, was one of the largest suppliers of diacetyl in the U.S.

Flavor manufacturers then used that diacetyl in making flavors sold to plants that made microwave popcorn, cake mixes, candies and many other flavor products.
